Make a Difference Day October 22, 2011

Saturday, October 22nd, is Make a Difference Day 2011! Across the Inland Empire, community members will be partnering together to make a lasting difference in local cities.

Want to get involved? Grab a friend, a neighbor, and/or a family member and VOLUNTEER! Here’s just a bit of what’s happening in a city near you:

What’s going down in P-Town? A beautification bash! Volunteers will be teaming up with Steven’s Hope for Children to organize and make over a children’s boutique storage facility that raises money for families with sick or disabled children!

Redlands will be busy, busy, busy on Make a Difference Day! Children from local elementary schools will be treated to a day of reading and educational games at Mustard Seed Tutorial Center, where volunteers will be playing games, telling stories, and making sure each child in attendance leaves at the end of the day with a free book!

Elsewhere in the city, green thumbs will be busy as the City of Redlands and the Redlands Conservancy are sponsoring a total of four park clean-up events! Dust off your gloves and dig up your shovels – it’s time for us all to get green!

Diamond Bar, Chino Hills, Rancho Cucamonga, and Ontario

Inland Empire, unite! A four-city effort will be taking place as volunteers working with Inland Valley Hope Partners will gather canned goods at select local supermarkets. Collectively known as the “Fam-tastic Food Drive,” IVHP aims to collect as much food as possible for local families in need. Chip in and help us set a new record this year!
